Interest Lost

With nothing much on last night, the Tigers were in a close game against the Indians. Armando Galarraga was pitching, so I new the Tigers at least had a chance. I tried to watch the game, I'm a huge Tigers fan, but I found myself turning the channel looking for something else. I found out this morning that the Tigers lost in 10 innings 4-3. Am I surprised? Not this year.

There were so many expectations this year, and all this team has provided is disappointment. How many guys can you have on one team underachieve? From Dontrelle Willis to Gary Sheffield, this team has too many players who haven't earned their pay this year. The only injury you can really blame for this season's failures is Jeremy Bonderman's. Even writing this frustrates me! I could handle this team stinking if they were supposed to be bad. I have found out what true disappointment is this year though.

As a Tiger's fan the only thing you can hold on to, is next year. Miguel Cabrera in the second half has shown why he is one of the top players in baseball. Curtis Granderson and Justin Verlander have also shown glimpses of why they are also so highly regarded. But next year is next year, and I still have a month of watching this tragedy.

I agree with you Wind. I'm finding it very difficult to tune into a game at this point in the season. It makes me feel like a fairweather fan a bit, but then I remember that i watched about 85% of their games in 2003 when they lost 119 games. I think those of us diehards who invested so much into this team deserve a reprive from this disaster. The only storyline to watch for is if Maggs will claim the batting title for the second straight year. Hardly a draw for a team that was supposed to go to the World Series.

I haven't watched in what seems like forever. If not for the simple fact that I cannot bear to listen to the contrived banter spewed by mario and rod, let alone the fact that this team appeared to have mailed it in back in april.

this offseason should be interesting. at least it better be. this team needs an overhaul the likes of which we haven't seen for awhile. for years we all clammored for the tigers to add a superstar or two or five. better that than the shane halter's and craig paquette's of the world. well, we got our wish and what we got was an overrated, overhyped lump of coal in the biggest present under the tree.

i could begin to list the changes i think need to be made, but why rehash what's already been poured over throughout this torturous summer. let's just say this winter better be real busy. i want to hear a lot of tiger news and a lot tiger activity. i wanna hear the tigers are rumored to sign so-and-so and the tigers are said to be involved in this big trade or that big trade. i'm not on board for another summer of this discontent. no matter how great mario and rod tell me it is.
